111 Strategies to Drive Massive Amounts of Traffic to a New Site
GENERATING TRAFFIC FROM WRITING GREAT CONTENT
- If you dont have a BLOG on your site, then get one and make sure you write on it at least weekly.
- Make sure your blog is a part of your website URL and not on a separate site like Blogger or somewhere else.
- WRITE as many articles or posts as you can. Writing up to 6 a week can really increase your traffic.
- Make sure you have a combination of LONG POSTS over 300 words and SHORT POSTS. A ratio of 4 to 1 is probably best. Long articles are the best and the majority of your posts should be of this type.
- Make up your own INFOGRAPHICS or Motivational Pictures to help illustrate your points and share them with everyone.
- If you have product descriptions make sure you have great and original content. If not work on rewriting that content even if you start with the most popular items first.
- Post your good buzzwords within your content that can help increase sales up front, like free shipping, no hassle returns, longer return policies, and free product with order.
- Think about a resource center that offers free and useful resources specific to your business or product. Think about what your customers would consider useful and offer some of them at no charge.
- People still love lists and top ten (or whatever number) articles. So write them until this changes. Personally I hate them but a few from time to time will suck me in. I mean come on isn’t this article an example of a list?
- Create content that is purely entertaining. It can be relevant to your business or not. I remember we made a shock boot video for a website that was horrible and quite frankly stupid but for some reason it got more views than our relevant videos because it was purely for fun.
- Consider writing posts on other blogs as a guest writer.
- Make a place on your site where you list all of the places you have written great content, guest posts, or articles for article sites.
- From time to time write an epic story or post. Fill it with a huge amount of content that will be relevant in the years to come. This will allow for naturally occurring links to self build over years and provide you with a steady stream of traffic.
- Scan your analytic metrics and see which posts are doing well. Then write a follow up post making sure you link back to the first post.
- When writing posts make sure you link to other relevant articles within your site, especially older articles that may be buried or archived. Also scan your articles or use a link checker to make sure all links are working correctly.
- Have some fun posts where you link to fun videos. Try different videos, what you are looking for are videos that get views and attention and not epic movies with great production value. The goal is to get seen, noticed, and commented on.
