Amazon Associates is a program that gives you access to sell any item on the Amazon website and earn a commission from it. You are assigned a unique code and when you put links on your site to the Amazon site or internal product listings you are paid on anything that sells within the cookie window. Also make sure that you link any photos you use with your affiliate link. A lot of times people will click on your photos and you want them to be able to see the Amazon page where you can earn money not just a bigger version of the photo where you don’t get paid.
Add a BUY IT NOW or SEE IT ON AMAZON button and you will be surprised at how many will click it. REMEMBER: people need some direction!

Product reviews are a great way to increase affiliate sales. Make sure the review is in depth and you use the product and supply good recommendations. Then your review will convert affiliate sales very well.
If you are not setting up an email list then do it! Use this list to email people about products you are reviewing that they need to know. This is a great way to get people clicking on your Amazon affiliate links. You can email people with great deals, or do a best seller list in your niche, or alert them to great buys. One thing people love to read is comparison shopping posts. This is like the “Lists or Top 5” posts everyone raves about. Compare products side by side then email your list about it.
Take advantage of buying seasons, hot products, and promotions. Holidays and Hot products can be great ways to increase your affiliate sales. Review products that are on the hot seller list, Amazon provides this on the bottom of your affiliate links pages. On Holidays review, blog, recommend the heck out of stuff. Make it relevant and natural though. Use your email list to blast out news about your Holiday reviews.
Refer to earn is the Amazon game. And the more you sell the higher your commission rate will be. While in the beginning you will need to focus on getting a single sale to validate your affiliate status, after that you will need to increase your sales to earn even more commissions. Tracking is key on Amazon. Knowing where your sales are coming from will help you understand which websites are converting. Amazon lets you setup multiple tracking codes so you can use a unique code for each website
There are a lot of people out there that MIX IT UP. In other words have various sites that sell lower priced items, versus high dollar items. A luxury watch site will have several high dollar items on it and probably they will not sell every day. The commissions will be higher on a $1000.00 dollar item versus a $10.00 dollar item but if you sell one hundred $10.00 dollar items it may even out in the end. So concentrate on having a good mix of websites that sell high dollar and low dollar items exclusively.

There are some good Amazon plugins that you can use on WordPress. Especially ones that will let you review the product and plug all the information right into your post. This makes generating Amazon content a lot easier. But Google may penalize you for having what they call an “affiliate income generating site” only, rather than building a good solid information site with links to Amazon appearing naturally.
Look at being creative in your posts, there are great links for you to use on your site. Stay away from banner ads and text and image combo ads. Use carousel image ads and combination text and image links. These will convert better than any banner or text image ad.
