Normally there are two types of income, both being passive and active income. In my experience and personal preference I like active income more. I like to work with products and services and setup programs and monetization strategies for tangible goods.

But I also know the value of passive income strategies and have witnessed many people who do very well in this income stream. As you will see we try and incorporate a lot of active income ideas with the selling of products on assisted selling sites and eCommerce strategies. Then we use a passive income model that allows us to earn additional income from other passive sources of monetization. When all is said and done we rely on may different ways to monetize our websites.

When setting up any monetization program it is important to understand not to use too many links or ads so that it overwhelms your site and makes it look like an ad palace. Not only will it look bad but Google may penalize you. Use banners and graphic ads sparingly. Make text and contextual links seem natural within the site and relevant to what you are talking about.

Remember the goal is to get people to click over to the affiliate site where you can earn commissions.
